Paul Clifford
Founder
Paul Clifford, founder of Hopdox, has over 30 years of experience in creating systems and processes that simplify manual work, driven by his passion for automation. Before Hopdox, Paul founded Simplifile, the leading platform for electronic recording of land record documents, which integrated nearly 2,500 counties under his 20-year leadership. His career also includes roles as Director of Corporate and Strategic Planning at iLumin, where he developed strategic business plans for Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, as well as a business strategy consultant and Senior Financial Analyst at The Clorox Company. Paul holds a BS in Finance from Brigham Young University and an MBA from the University of Connecticut.
Auri Burnham
Cofounder
Auri Burnham, CFO of Hopdox, is a seasoned finance professional with decades of experience in the real estate, software, construction, and payments industries. He has developed and implemented industry-specific accounting and finance processes that enhance efficiency and accuracy, fostering a culture of creativity and innovation within his teams. Auri holds a Master of Accountancy from Brigham Young University and is a licensed CPA. His previous roles include serving as CFO at Rimrock Construction and Simplifile, where he helped establish the company as a market leader in electronic recording of land record documents.
Brian Boike
President
Brian, President of Hopdox, is a visionary leader with a proven track record in technology and innovation. He has held high-level positions at respected financial institutions and fintech companies, including Simplifile, United Wholesale Mortgage, and Flagstar Bank. At Hopdox, Brian is responsible for driving strategic initiatives, fostering a culture of innovation, and leveraging emerging technologies to transform business operations. His ability to inspire teams and deliver exceptional results is rooted in his passion for innovation and curiosity. Brian holds a B.S. from Bowling Green State University and an M.B.A. from Wayne State University.
Vicki DiPasquale
Senior Vice President
Vicki DiPasquale, Senior Vice President at Hopdox, is a seasoned real estate professional with a deep understanding of the industry. She served on the board of Simplifile before joining the company as Vice President and National Sales Manager, where she remained until her retirement in 2021. Vicki's extensive experience includes roles with national title insurance underwriters, managing large closing operations, and consulting on various real estate projects. A lifelong learner with a Doctorate in Management focused on Organizational Leadership, Vicki is known for her innovation and thought leadership in simplifying workflows. In 2024, she joined Hopdox, driven by her passion for eRecording and the company's mission to make it "simply better."
Barbara McLean
Sales Director
Barbara is a dedicated real estate professional with 28 years of industry experience, beginning her career as a real estate broker known for her market knowledge and negotiation skills. She served as a Regional Sales Director at Simplifile for 13.5 years, where she demonstrated exceptional leadership and built strong relationships with key industry stakeholders. Barbara is recognized for her strategic thinking, commitment to client satisfaction, and passion for excellence, making her a respected authority in the real estate recording sector.
Karl Trottnow
Business Development
Karl has over 35 years of experience in property records, with a focus on eRecording since 2005. Before joining Hopdox, he spent 10 years as an eRecording submitter and served as Simplifile’s County Account Manager for more than 5 years, dedicated to improving the county eRecording experience. An active member of the Property Records Industry Association (PRIA) since 2008, Karl has co-chaired the eRecording Business Requirements work group and contributed to numerous committees. He is also a frequent presenter at industry events. Karl holds a BS in Business Management from the University of Akron.
Adam Lane
Chief Technology Officer
A veteran with more than 25 years in software development, Adam Lane has engineered key solutions for pioneering startups including the Waterford Institute, Imagine Learning, Simplifile, SimpleNexus, and Senya. At Simplifile, he spearheaded technology efforts for 15 years, expanding eRecording nationwide. Now at Hopdox, Adam harnesses his extensive experience to drive innovation and raise the bar in the industry.
Zach Buhler
Software Engineer
Zach is a seasoned software engineer with over 15 years of experience in software development and systems architecture. He is known for his innovative problem-solving skills, leadership in complex projects, and expertise in both front-end and back-end technologies. With a passion for turning great ideas into reality, Zach spent most of his career at Simplifile, where he specialized in architecting and building exceptional user experiences. He is now excited to bring that expertise to Hopdox, aiming to build something “simply better.” He holds a B.S. in Information Systems from Brigham Young University.
Michael "Coop" Cooper
Software Engineer
Michael, a member of the software team at Hopdox, brings extensive experience in engineering and team leadership, with a passion for user-driven development and enhancing efficiency through technology. His previous roles at Simplifile include Manager, Senior Software Engineer, Team Lead, and Support Engineer. Michael holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics Education from Brigham Young University and a Master's degree in Mathematics Education from Western Governors University. His diverse background in teaching, coaching, customer support, engineering, and management adds a unique perspective to his work.
Sam Sieber
Software Engineer
Sam Sieber is an experienced software engineer with over 10 years of experience. He spent most of his career at Simplifile, working on core system features and internal tooling. He has a knack for finding alternative approaches to hard issues and excels at solving new problems. He's excited to work with former colleagues now at Hopdox. Sam has earned a B.S. in Computer Science from Brigham Young University.
Richard Jackman
VP, Marketing
Richard Jackman is a hands-on marketing executive with a proven track record of growing companies from startup through successful exits. Richard has served as VP of Marketing for nCino, SimpleNexus, and Simplifile, where he spent 12 years driving marketing strategies for the eRecording company. His expertise lies in scaling businesses and achieving significant growth milestones.
Abby Harris
Intern
Abby is a senior studying information systems at Brigham Young University. She interned in 2022 at Thistle Creek Capital, a real estate investment fund. Abby is working with counties to ensure the best experience possible when eRecording. She will complete her BSIS in April 2025.
